Applications are invited on a Contract Basis under Basic Pay Scales (BPS) Contract, Equivalent to Basic Pay Scales (EBPS) Contract, and IST’s Faculty Pay Scales (FPS) Contract for the following positions:
- Faculty Posts: Lecturer / Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor
- Lab Posts: Lab Engineer / Lab Associate and Technician-I / Lab Assistant

Important Dates & Application Deadlines
- General Rule for Most Posts: IST keeps accepting applications on an ongoing basis until the posts are filled.
- Lab Posts Exception: For Technician-I / Lab Assistant (EBPS-10), the closing date is 15 days after the publication of the advertisement. Late applications for these specific posts will not be processed or considered.
Key Eligibility Criteria & Instructions
- Qualifications: All degrees must be from well-reputed universities recognized by HEC, PEC, or NCEAC (as applicable). Candidates with foreign degrees must submit equivalence certificates from HEC or IBCC.
- Current / Ex-Employees Requirements:
- Serving Govt / Autonomous Employees: Must submit an NOC from their current employer. They will not be appointed on deputation/EOL and must resign if selected.
- Ex-Govt / Retired Employees: Must submit verified photocopies of their release/retirement order and Last Pay Certificate (LPC).
- Ex-Armed Forces Personnel: Must submit verified release/retirement order, LPC, and a mandatory NOC from General HQs / Air HQs / Naval HQs.
- Application Limits: Applicants can apply for one post only as per their eligibility.
- Documents Required:
- Duly filled and signed application form
- Detailed updated CV
- Attested photocopies of degrees, transcripts, matric certificates, and experience certificates
- Valid PEC / NCEAC registration certificate (where applicable)
- Publication list from HEC-recognized “W” category journals (if applicable)
- Recent passport-size photograph, CNIC, and NOC/retirement documents (if applicable)
- Location: All posts are Islamabad-based. Interviews/presentations will take place at IST, Islamabad only. No TA/DA is admissible.
